Walk & Ride Challenge

What is the Walk & Ride Challenge?

The Walk & Ride Challenge is a 3 week program that encourages everyone to get out and walk! Whether you drive to work, use transit, bike, carpool, or telework, everyone is encouraged to participate. It’s easy to get in and around on foot or by the use of transit instead of driving. All you need to do is get walking!

How Does the Challenge Work?

Get together with some co-workers and form a team. Teams can have up 3 to 5 members. For three weeks, you record your steps and compete for prizes each week! There will also be prizes for each member of our top three teams. So, grab your co-workers, form a team, and challenge others at your organization to get involved!

When does the Challenge take place?

The Challenge takes places annually in the fall. Depending on the year, the Challenge usually takes place in September or October. This year, the Challenge will take place from October 13 through October 31, 2025.

How much does it cost?

Participation in the Walk & Ride Challenge for 2025 is free!

Who can participate in the Challenge?

All employees that work in the North Bethesda Transportation Management District (NBTMD) can participate in the Walk & Ride Challenge. Check the map to make sure that your worksite is in the NBTMD.
